What is puff ink?
With puff printing, we add a special puff additive to our water-based ink. During drying, this reacts to heat, causing the ink to rise. You then get a subtle but tangible relief that you both see and feel.
The height of the effect depends on the design, the amount of ink and the textile. We carefully coordinate that with you for a technically sound and visually strong result.
Why choose a puff print?
What sets this technique apart is not only the look, but also the hand feel. People touch clothes and a puff print literally stands out. That makes it a cool choice for brands that want to stand out without screaming, or for designers playing with contrast between flat and volume.
3D effect
Puff print adds volume to your design. Especially with tight shapes such as texts, lines or icons, this gives a special result.
Flexible structure
Despite the volume, the print remains flexible and pleasant to the touch. On sweaters and hoodies, it gives a high-quality finish.
Creative applications
Puff combines well with regular screen printing, matte surfaces or transparent inks. Ideal for adding emphasis to certain parts of the design.
Perfect for streetwear, sports & design
This technique is widely used in clothing where form and perception come together. Think fashion collections, limited merchandise or sporting designs.

What do you need to know?
Subtle effect
Don’t expect an inch-high structure, but a refined elevation with clear impact.
Not suitable for fine detail
Puff works best for shapes of any size. Lines that are too thin can fall away or bulge unevenly.
Not suitable for all types of textiles
On stretchy or uneven fabrics, the puff print may crack. In addition, fabrics that cannot withstand heat well could shrink or melt. After all, the puff needs to cure properly.
